About The Book
Devastated by the loss of his beloved wife Edie after 31 years of marriage Fraser Coleman learns the painful truth that she was not the perfect wife he had always believed her to be. He must now face revelations that not only involve the nationality and true character of his wife, but also the realization that his two daughters, with whom he had felt quite satisfied, are actually failing to make a success of their lives.
His elderly mother longs to tell her son the true facts about his father who had died when Fraser was only five years old. For a number of reasons she has withheld certain information but now realises that she ought to pass it on. She dies, however, before she is able to do so.
Gradually Fraser pieces together the past and comes to terms with the fact that his own attitudes have exacerbated the problems that have arisen. In this he is helped by a new friend, Angela, whose advice he learns to trust.
Then one dreadful day a near tragedy besets Fraser’s six year-old grandson and during the frightening days of suspense that follow Fraser must find the strength to help his family members through the trauma. As the boy’s life hangs by a thread all the family members are compelled to reassess their priorities.
